Imagine your child being such a great math master that they answer any question with speed and confidence.
Better yet, they get it right!
Imagine your child being such a great math master that they answer any question with speed and confidence.

It may just take a fresh mind and new way to look at it to truly come to know mathematics as one of the true, good, and beautiful subjects.
Allow me to introduce your students to this new way of seeing mathematics!
To see mathematics as a beautiful language to be mastered, one by which to understand the world by.
Not an arbitrary list of numbers with arbitrary rules that seem to have been created just to make their life miserable.
Rebecca has been an impressive teacher for our son for the past year. She provides an engaging way to teach that motivates the student to keep working even on the most difficult topics, because her focus includes the learner's specific skills. She is truly kind and helped our son to build confidence in math, making the most challenging lessons easier to understand. We would highly recommend her to anyone interested in receiving math instruction.
Rebecca's tutoring has helped my son tremendously in math. He is no longer frustrated and is able to understand the new lessons with her help. Math is no longer a dread; Rebecca is a blessing to our family!
Rebecca has instructed and tutored my daughter in Algebra II over the past year. In a positive and enjoyable manner, she has been able to teach math in a way my daughter can easily understand, being both highly proficient in math and a good teacher. She has also instructed my daughter in math college testing preparation. I highly recommend Rebecca to instruct students in multiple levels of math.

This program is for home school families using Saxon Algebra 1 for their math curriculum. For the 2022-2023 school year I will only be running a course on Saxon Algebra 1. See next question regarding other courses.
I will offer more classes in the future, but for the 2022-2023 school year I am only able to offer Saxon algebra 1. For the 2023-2024 school year I plan on offering Saxon algebra 1, algebra 2, and pre-algebra.
In addition to being a certified math teacher in Texas, I have 5 years experience tutoring mathematics with a focus on homeschool curricula and mental math/number sense proficiency. I’m a strong believer in helping every student become more proficient in number sense and implement these concepts as I am able to within my lessons. This is something many teachers are not aware of!
The intuitive math method is my way of implementing mental math and number sense micro-lessons into the pre-existing Saxon curriculum so your student can build a stronger understanding of math as a language without spending time on extra supplemental material.
A basic understanding of mental math is that it is a group of strategies for doing computations in your head, mentally.
Going deeper, mental math is just one part of number sense which focuses on seeing how numbers relate to one another. This allows students to not just be faster with mathematical computations but also builds a stronger foundation and understanding of mathematics as a language, making it easier to learn new concepts in advanced courses such as Algebra.
Our online community is completely optional and will be hosted on an app called HeartBeat.
I've put the community here so we can all stay away from the distractions that are ever present on platforms such as Facebook groups.
On Heartbeat, students will be able to post questions on a public thread without having access to potentially dangerous features such as private messaging.
This is to ensure everyone's safety and to accommodate those families who do not use social media.
This course follows the Saxon Algebra 1, third edition textbook.
As a bare minimum you will need this textbook and the answer key for grading as well as other typical school supplies such as pencils, paper, erasers, etc.
